Invergordon 7 Years Old 2017 (Little Brown Dog Spirits Ltd.)

Invergordon is the most northerly grain distillery in Scotland, set on the Cromarty Firth in Easter Ross, with almost all of its output going into Whyte & Mackay's blends. This release was bottled by Little Brown Dog Spirits Ltd., distilled in 2017, at 7 years old, for its Small Batch range. It was released for Europe.

Grain whisky like Invergordon's is made in continuous Coffey stills rather than pot stills, which gives a cleaner, sweeter and lighter spirit than malt. Matured in virgin oak.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.8%, without dilution, the virgin oak drives strong vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with furfural adding a toasted edge and fresh tannins giving grip. The result is a soft, sweet profile led by vanilla and coconut, into a gentle finish.
