Description
Hochriegl is one of Austria's long-standing Sekt houses, and this Spumante Rosato takes a modern, fruit-accented approach to rosé sparkling. The wine is built for freshness and easy drinking, the vinification aimed at keeping the fruity clarity of the base wine, with the fizz set in tank so the red fruit stays bright. At around 12 to 17 grams per litre of residual sugar it finishes just off dry, giving a soft, accessible style that works across aperitifs and summer occasions rather than the formal table.
The colour is an elegant salmon pink with violet reflections. The nose brings blackberry and dark berry fruit, and the palate is fruity and harmonious, with raspberry and wild berries carried on a fine bead. The finish is soft, balanced and long. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees. It suits white roast meat such as chicken or turkey, Caesar salad, steamed vegetables and fruity desserts like berry cake or strawberry tiramisu.
