Description
Hochriegl looks back on more than 125 years of sparkling wine and holds a settled place in Austria's Sekt culture. This rosé is made from Zweigelt and Pinot Noir, two red grapes that give it both structure and bright red fruit. The base wine is handled carefully to keep the natural flavour and freshness of the grapes, the fizz set in tank so the fruit stays to the fore, and the bottle is finished under natural cork. The dosage sits at a balanced Brut, leaving the berry fruit forward while the wine finishes clean.
The colour is a light rosé with salmon reflections and a fine bead. The nose is elegant and fresh, led by red berry fruit. The palate is harmonious and fruity, with berries carried on a soft mousse, and the finish is long and velvety. Serve chilled at 10 to 11 degrees. It works as an aperitif and suits finger food, salmon and tender roast beef, as well as roast poultry and hard cheese.
