Description
Herencia de Plata Añejo comes from the fine line of a fourth generation Jalisco family house based in Guadalajara, a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila built around sherry cask maturation. The producer fills its barrels with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera for twelve to thirty months before shipping the saturated wood to Mexico, so the casks arrive already loaded with fortified wine character.
The Añejo rests eighteen months in these sherry casks, drawing the residual wine and oak compounds into the spirit and turning it a deep golden amber. On the nose it shows cooked agave, a rounded sweetness and floral, herbal hints, while the palate leans into caramel, vanilla, maple and dried grape from the sherry influence. The fortified cask shapes much of the profile, layering raisin and gentle oak over the agave base.
