Hakushu 12 Years Old

Hakushu 12 Years Old is a globally released single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's landmark mountain distillery sites established in 1973 near Hokuto. It is among the distillery's most recognisable expressions, celebrated for the freshness that the high-altitude location and soft meltwater impart.

Ex-Bourbon maturation provides the vanilla and honey backbone over which the distillery's signature cut grass, leafy and citric notes develop. A gentle smoky thread, characteristic of many Hakushu releases, adds complexity without overwhelming the fresh green fruit and the clean, mineral finish typical of whisky made at this altitude.
