A cane-strength Martinique blanc from A1710 at Habitation du Simon, distilled on a creole column from fresh cane juice and left unaged, an intense rush of sugarcane, lime and grassy freshness that drinks like Ti’ Punch in a glass at 67.5%.
Description
A1710 is the rum label of Habitation du Simon on Martinique, and this Perle Fine is white agricole pushed to its most concentrated. Bottled unsweetened and unaged at a forceful 67.5%, it is built to showcase the raw character of fresh-pressed cane juice rather than any cask influence.
Distilled on a creole column still, the design that keeps grassy and vegetal congeners in the spirit, it is unmistakably agricole from the first nosing: sugarcane, lime and a fresh, intense lift. The palate is strong and warm with a grassy, herbaceous drive, and the finish stays oily and fresh with cut grass and cane sap. The high proof reads as a feature here, concentrating the herbaceous attack and the lime that practically begs for a wedge and a touch of sugar. A vivid, uncompromising white for agricole devotees.
