A1710 Prosper

A1710 Prosper is a three year old cane-juice rum from the A1710 micro-distillery at Le Simon in Martinique, working outside the AOC framework with organic cane and small, showpiece releases. Bottled at cask strength of 49.6%, it is youthful but full of character.

Distilled from fresh-pressed organic cane juice on a combination of pot and column stills, it brings citrus, peach and apricot, honeyed nuts, dry wood and a peppery, dried-fruit finish, with a cognac-cask influence shaping the fruit. The pot-still contribution adds weight under the bright cane, and the spirit rewards time in the glass to open up its spice and fruit. It is a distinctive, limited bottling, and while the youthful age is clear, the depth and care show, making it a slow neat pour for the curious.
