Description
Green Spot is the best known of the Spot whiskeys, a single pot still long associated with Mitchell and Son, the Dublin wine merchants who bonded their own casks and marked them with green paint. This is an earlier bottling from 2004, made at Midleton in Co. Cork and offered for Europe at 40%, before the range moved to a higher strength.
Matured in ex-bourbon American oak, it shows vanilla and a toasted, fresh wood character over the pot still core of green apple, citrus and honey. The mash of malted and unmalted barley gives the hallmark spice and an oily, creamy texture, kept light and approachable at this strength. Triple distilled and unpeated, in the Midleton house style.
