An official release of Glen Keith, at 40%. Glen Keith is a clean, fruity Speyside malt from the town of Keith in Moray. Single malt Glen Keith is rare, most of it coming from independent bottlers.
The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Keith style, building the fresh Glen Keith style. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. No age is given, but vanillin vanilla and a bright apple are well integrated. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and tropical fruit. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards tropical fruit, honey and a soft spice. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time. Its make went largely into the Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers blends. It sits within sight of Strathisla, the oldest distillery in Scotland.
Bottled at 40%, it is rounded. Green apple, pear and a soft malt, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, citrus and a creamy vanilla fill the middle. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside malt from the Chivas stable.
