Description
Galliano Espresso Liqueur is an Italian coffee liqueur from the Galliano house, the maker of the tall bottled vanilla and anise liqueur known as the Harvey Wallbanger float, and is bottled at 30%. It is built on a blend of Arabica coffees, one from Colombia and one from Brazil, drawn into a deep, full bodied liqueur with a balance of sweetness and bitterness. The espresso character is the focus, an intense coffee note rather than a sweet mocha one.
The nose is intense coffee with roasted cocoa, vanilla and a hint of caramel, the palate full bodied and deep with strong espresso, dark chocolate and subtle spice, finishing long, dry and slightly bitter with a pleasant coffee warmth. Behind the bar that drier, roast led profile is the point, bringing coffee depth and bitterness to an Espresso Martini without padding it with sugar, and making a leaner Black Russian. It also lifts a stout or a stirred whisky serve. Serve it neat or over ice as a digestif for coffee lovers.
