G4 Tequila Extra Añejo 6 Años Reserva Especial – EDICIÓN MEXICO

G4 is the El Pandillo line of Felipe Camarena, the fourth generation of his family in tequila, distilled at NOM 1579 in Jesús María in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco. This Edición México is a 2023 limited extra añejo from agave azul, the only species tequila allows, aged a full six years and packed in a one off box of Brazilian parota wood. El Pandillo is a reference point for additive-free production, with no diffuser and no column still.

The agave is cooked in stone ovens and crushed in a homemade mechanical tahona nicknamed Felipestein, then twice distilled in copper, with water drawn from a half rainwater half spring blend. Six years in former George Dickel Tennessee whiskey barrels push it toward vanilla, nutmeg and pepper, with floral and citrus lift and a bittersweet, long finish. Bottled at 43%.
