This Limited Edition Real McCoy comes from Foursquare, Richard Seale's additive-free St Philip distillery, and takes its character from time in virgin oak. A 2017 release aged 10 years and bottled at 46% with no added sugar, it sits in the drier, more spice-forward corner of the Barbados range.
The house pot and column blend brings cleaner column rum together with richer pot still, and the fresh oak pushes the wood and spice further than the usual ex-bourbon profile. The aroma carries caramel, oak, vanilla and spice, the palate turns oaky and spicy with vanilla and toffee, and the finish stays on oak, spice and caramel.
