Fine Spirits Rum of the World Single Cask

This Rum of the World release is a single cask selected by the French bottler Fine Spirits, part of a series that ranges widely across origins in search of distinctive casks. It is an idiosyncratic, polarising bottling, the kind of single cask that prizes character over polish.

Bottled at 46% from a single barrel, it opens with an unusual nose of tropical fruit, floral allspice and a sharp note of nail polish that does little to prepare the drinker for what follows. The palate turns toward black pepper, marmalade and a sweet, floral fruitiness, while the finish brings cocoa alongside vegetal and herbal notes.
