A single cask 12.5 Year Old Guadeloupe agricole from Montebello, distilled at Carrere from fresh cane juice, aged in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at cask strength of 47% by Famille Ricci.
Description
Famille Ricci Carrere Montebello 2010 is a single cask Guadeloupe rhum agricole distilled at the Carrere distillery, home of the Montebello brand run by the Marsolle family on Basse-Terre. This release was selected by Famille Ricci from a 2010 vintage, aged twelve and a half years and drawn from one cask.
Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses and matured in ex-bourbon oak, then bottled at an unsweetened cask strength of 47%, a mature Montebello of this kind typically carries the grassy agricole core into nutty, oak-driven territory with baking spice. A dry, full-proof agricole for drinkers who want the cask spoken plainly.
