Deanston from the distillery, a 10 year old, at 46.3%. Deanston is a Highland malt made in a vaulted stone mill, waxy and malty in style. The distillery sits on the River Teith near Doune, between Stirling and the Highlands.

The spirit was distilled slowly for a clean, fruity spirit, for the waxy, honeyed make Deanston is known for. Maturation came in a Red Wine cask, layered over the fruity Deanston make. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and honey to the fore. Its old weaving shed, once full of looms, is now a cool stone warehouse for the casks. River Teith water and a long ferment give the fruity, estery Deanston make. The site was the Adelphi cotton mill, built in 1785 by Sir Richard Arkwright and turned to whisky in 1965.

At 46.3% it is clean and soft. Green apple, honey and a waxy malt, with red berry and a dry spice from the cask. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft honey. Apple, honey and a soft oak spice see out a long finish. This is a waxy, honeyed Highland single malt.
