    This Dailuaine was bottled by the bottler 3006 Whisky (3W), a 9 year old, at 56.3%. A heavy, full malt of dried fruit, malt and a warm spice, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Its rich, heavy malt is a backbone of the Johnnie Walker blends. Founded in 1852, it was the first distillery to use the pagoda roof. This is Dailuaine’s heavy, meaty Speyside style.

    This Dailuaine was bottled by the bottler 3006 Whisky (3W), a 9 year old, distilled in 2016, bottled at 56.3%, one of 30 bottles. Dailuaine is a rich, meaty Speyside single malt from the banks of the Spey near Aberlour. Water comes from the Bailliemullich Burn, the spirit drawn off three wash and three spirit stills.

    It was drawn off three wash and three spirit stills, building the heavy Dailuaine style. Maturation in an Oloroso cask laid dried fruit over the meaty, malty spirit. At an extractive age eugenol lends a clove note and lactones a coconut, the spirit rich, malty and full. The big stills give a heavy spirit that takes a long, sherried maturation in its stride. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation, the heavy malt deepening. It sits near Aberlour, in the heart of Speyside by the River Spey.

    At a natural 56.3% it is full and honeyed. Baked fruit, fig and a savoury depth, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. The texture is full and rich, the fruit lifted by a meaty malt. A full, malty finish ends on dried fruit and a warm spice. This is Dailuaine, a backbone of the great blends.
