From Jack Wiebers' Prenzlow Portfolio Collection, this Croftengea is a heavily peated malt from Loch Lomond, an 11 year old from 2007, a tiny outturn of 120 bottles.
Eleven years in ex-Bourbon at full strength concentrate the spirit, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla beneath an intense peat.
At 58.5% the wood smoke is fierce over the malt, guaiacol and phenols driving the reek. A peated Croftengea.
