Description
Col Sandago work in the Treviso hills of the Veneto, and this Prosecco Rosé is made under the DOC rules that permit Glera to be blended with a share of Pinot Nero to give a pink, red-fruited wine. Both the fruit and the fizz are shaped by the tank method, a second fermentation in pressurised stainless steel that keeps Prosecco fresh, light and aromatic. This is a millesimato from a single vintage, finished at brut dosage for a dry style.
The colour is a pale rose pink with a fine, foaming bead. The nose brings strawberry, raspberry and red currant together with apple and a floral lift. The palate is light and dry, the red fruit joined by pear and a crisp, clean finish. Serve cold at around six to eight degrees in a white-wine glass or flute. It makes a lively aperitif and suits antipasti, prosciutto and lighter salads.
