Description
This Premier Cru release takes the familiar Bombay Sapphire and builds it around hand-picked Murcian lemons, ripened in the Mediterranean sun and peeled only at full maturity. As with the core gin, the botanicals and citrus are vapour-infused, gently extracted by steam rather than boiled, which keeps the juniper from being overrun and lets the lemon read as fresh rather than candied. No artificial flavours, only fruit and botanical.
The nose is intensely citrus, Murcian lemon over subtle juniper and fresh herbal spice. The palate is refreshing and lively, clear lemon brightness with a fine juniper edge, a touch of cinnamon and a gentle sweetness rounding it off, before a long, fresh finish. At 47% it stands up well in a G&T with premium tonic and a slice of lemon.
