Description
Extrafass #3 is a Berlin Distillery bottling of Irish single malt from Connacht in Ballina, Co. Mayo, distilled on the River Moy and aged five years. The German house selected the cask and gave it a first fill apricot brandy finish, bottling 394 half litre bottles in 2023.
Ex-bourbon maturation set the base of vanilla and orchard fruit before the apricot brandy cask amplified exactly that register, ripe apricot, peach skin and honeyed stone fruit. At 46.2% it stays bright and juicy, the double distilled Mayo malt's cereal freshness showing through, single cask 50 at its most summery.
