Ardbeg Ar6 (Elements of Islay)

Released as Ar6, the sixth batch in the Speciality Drinks Elements of Islay Ardbeg sub series. The Elements of Islay programme works with anonymized distillery codes (Ar for Ardbeg, Bn for Bunnahabhain, Lp for Laphroaig and so on) when permission to use the distillery name is not available, allowing Speciality Drinks to channel stock from major Islay distilleries under a unified series identity.

Released in 2016 at 55.7% ABV, non chill filtered with no added colour. Each numbered batch in the Ar series typically presents a small bottle count, with the programme running as a sequence of limited releases across the late 2000s and 2010s. Speciality Drinks Ltd operates alongside The Whisky Exchange retail under the Sukhinder Singh umbrella.

The single distillery format preserves pure Ardbeg spirit chemistry. Cis and trans oak lactones (coconut, oiled wood) from American oak refill build expressive concentration, hemicellulose breakdown furans (furfural, hydroxymethylfurfural) deliver caramel and toasted almond, and lignin vanillin and syringaldehyde layer vanilla and baking spice. The modern Ardbeg 50 to 55 ppm peat phenols (guaiacol, syringol, 4 methylguaiacol, p cresol) carry the classic Ardbeg phenolic smoke, with the Ardbeg purifier ester signature delivering concentrated pineapple, lemon and tropical fruit beneath the integrated phenolic core.
