Ardbeg 10 Years Old 1992 Cask #424

Released through Signatory Vintage's Straight from the Cask range, one of the bottler's longstanding single cask programmes. The Straight from the Cask line historically presented Signatory single casks in 50cl format with simple labelling, alongside the Cask Strength Collection and Vintage Collection at 70cl. The French market has been a consistent Signatory destination through the established Paris specialist retail tradition.

Filled into refill American oak in 1992 during Allied Distillers's intermittent reopening and matured for ten years across the 1996 final closure and the 1997 Glenmorangie acquisition. Bottled in 2002 at 56.7% ABV for the French market, non chill filtered with no added colour, drawn from cask #424.

Ten years of refill American oak maturation places this release in early mid age expression. Cis and trans oak lactones (coconut, oiled wood) build at moderate concentration, lignin vanillin and syringaldehyde contribute emerging vanilla and baking spice, and hemicellulose breakdown furans add caramel and toasted almond. The 1992 Allied era peat phenols (guaiacol, syringol, 4 methylguaiacol, p cresol) carry strong intensity at this age with minimal oxidative conversion. The Ardbeg purifier ester signature delivers concentrated pineapple, lemon and tropical fruit beneath the phenolic core, the Allied era spirit fingerprint preserved at this young age.
