Description
Peatlands is a peated anCnoc, a 10 year old from Knockdhu distillery near Knock in Banffshire, bottled in 2015, an outturn of 6,600 bottles. Part of the distillery's peated output. Knockdhu, named anCnoc to set it apart from Knockando, makes a normally light Highland spirit.
Production resumed under Inver House in 1989, with peated spirit made only occasionally. Over ten years the ex-Bourbon oak softens the peat and adds vanilla beneath it.
Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the smoke coming from peat phenols. Tasting notes take in smoke and chocolate over the fresh, fruity malt. A peated anCnoc.
