Description
Gran Cava de Oro Extra Anejo Dia de Muertos 2021 is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from Jalisco, an annual limited release whose hand painted ceramic bottle is designed by Tlaquepaque ceramic artist Rodo Padilla. Each year carries a new figure drawn from the colour and tradition of the Day of the Dead.
As an extra anejo it clears the three year minimum for the class with room to spare. This edition was matured sixty months in American oak barrels, then given eighteen additional months in French white oak, a finish that sets it apart from the standard extra anejo. The nose opens on layered fruit aromas warmed by roasted oak, while the palate carries those fruit notes alongside a pronounced sweetness and cooked agave that lead into a long finish. Bottled at 40%.
