Description
Amatiteña Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber tequila made at NOM 1477, the Cava de Oro distillery in El Arenal in the Jalisco valley, from agave grown in the El Novillero field and harvested in 2022. It carries the smoky house signature of the range and is pitched at drinkers who hover between blanco and anejo, adding a layer of complexity through a short rest.
The agave is cooked in a steel direct flame oven, a method that lends the line its distinctive smokiness, then crushed on a tahona and fermented in wooden tanks with the fibres and natural yeast in the open air. After two copper pot distillations the reposado rests two months in used American white oak bourbon casks. The producer states no additives are used, verified through Tequila Matchmaker. The result balances agave and wood, with cooked agave, honey, pepper, citrus and a light smoke at 42%.
