Gran Cava de Oro Tequila Rose Gold

Gran Cava de Oro Rose Gold is a Blanco tequila with an unusual twist, a faint straw rose colour drawn from a short rest in French white oak casks that previously held red wine. Because the time in wood stays under two months, it remains a blanco by class under NOM-006 while picking up a clear vinous tint. It is made by Tequilera Puerta de Hierro under NOM 1477 in the Los Valles area of Jalisco, the same Jalisco house behind the wider Cava de Oro range.

The wine cask influence shows on the nose as floral notes and aromas of red fruit, while the palate carries cooked agave, a light acidity and hints of dried fruit. Distilled from 100% Blue Weber agave and bottled at 40%, it offers the freshness of a blanco shaded by the colour and red fruit character of the barrel it briefly rested in.
