Description
Gran Cava de Oro Black Edition is a limited Añejo from the Cava de Oro line, created by master distiller Alberto Partida at Tequilera Puerta de Hierro, NOM 1477, in the Los Valles region of Jalisco. It is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila finished in a matte black bottle, the aged Black Bottle sibling to the brand's core range.
The agave is cooked in brick ovens, pressed with a roller mill and fermented in stainless steel before two to three years in red wine casks built from American and French oak. That long rest in wine soaked wood pushes the spirit well past a typical reposado, layering cinnamon, caramel, vanilla and nutmeg over a soft entry, with roasted notes and maple syrup running through the finish. The agave sits underneath, framed by the dark fruit and spice the wine casks contribute.
