Description
Siete Leguas Blanco is an additive-free 100% Blue Weber agave blanco produced at the family owned Siete Leguas distillery in Atotonilco el Alto, NOM 1120, founded in 1952 and named after Pancho Villa's horse. The house is a classic dual method operation, running a mule drawn stone tahona at El Centenario alongside a roller mill at La Vencedora, then blending the two, and it is remembered as the distillery that produced the original Patrón before that brand built its own site in 2002.
Wild yeast fermentation in wooden vats and copper pot distillation feed a layered blanco. The nose is floral and fine, with sweet dried apricot and a hint of spice; the palate brings cooked agave in harmony with green herbs, citrus, dried stone fruit and blossom honey. Bottled at 40% and additive-free, it is a balanced, structured highland blanco that long served as a benchmark for the category.
