Description
Ocho Plata La Mesa 2025 is a 100% Blue Weber agave blanco from the Camarena family's Tequila Ocho house in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, at NOM 1474. Like every Ocho release it is single estate and vintage dated, drawn entirely from one named field so the bottle expresses that specific terroir. Rancho La Mesa sits on a sunny plateau northwest of Los Alambiques at 2,200 metres, on light sandy soil rich in calcium and free of stones.
The agave here averaged 33 kilograms with a sugar content of 29%, the ripe concentration that altitude and red clay highland conditions encourage. Cooked in brick ovens and bottled unaged and additive-free, the spirit is fresh and bright: lime zest, green apple and tropical fruit with herbs on the nose, then a mineral, earthy palate cut with lime, orange and fresh mint. Bottled at 40%.
