Penderyn, best known for its Welsh whisky, makes the Brecon gin this expression is built on, a spirit prized for its clarity and pure juniper character. Here that clean base is infused with natural chocolate and orange, a pairing that nods to the festive confection but lands somewhere more sophisticated. At a gentle strength, it keeps the juniper in play rather than burying it under sweetness, so the result reads as a gin first and a treat second.
The nose leads with juniper, then the warm sweetness of cocoa and the bright, slightly tart lift of orange oil. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, creamy chocolate and sweet orange folding into subtle spice while the juniper holds its ground. It finishes long and lightly spiced, dark chocolate and candied peel trailing off. Serve it over ice with a Mediterranean tonic and an orange twist, or pour it into an espresso Martini for a chocolate-orange twist.
