Description
Kapriol distil in the Veneto, in the Italian Alps, where the house has made spirits since 1948 from an original wartime recipe. This grapefruit and hibiscus expression is built gently, using vacuum distillation at low temperature to keep the botanicals fresh and clear. Onto the classic frame of juniper, angelica root, cardamom and lemon peel they fold natural grapefruit and hibiscus flowers, and the result is floral, faintly bitter and very refreshing, with no added sugar to blur it.
The nose is fresh grapefruit and floral hibiscus over citrus and a light herbal tone. The palate is harmonious and bittersweet, grapefruit and flowers meeting fine spice. It finishes medium-long, elegant, citrus-fresh and floral. Serve it with a Mediterranean or floral tonic and a slice of grapefruit or a few dried hibiscus flowers, or shake it into a summery Floradora. Good, too, beside fresh seafood or a citrus-dressed salad.
