Blood orange and ripe peach lead, all bright Italian sweetness over a green tangle of bay, mint, rosemary and pine. The juniper here rests fifteen days at room temperature before being run through copper stills salvaged from the Second World War. Aromatic, fruit-soaked and unmistakably Venetian.

Description
The Maschio family have distilled in San Pietro di Feletto since the mid-1800s, when Antonio Maschio opened a small grappa works in the Venetian hills. Beniamino Maschio revived the old Distilleria dell'Alpe in 2002 to make liqueurs and gins in the regional tradition, and this bottling builds on the original Kapriol Dry recipe: juniper rested for two weeks, distilled in wartime copper stills, then flavoured with Italian blood oranges and peaches.
The nose is intense and fruit-forward, blood orange and peach jostling with juniper, rosemary and a resinous breath of pine. On the palate it stays generous and aromatic, the citrus and stone fruit threaded through bay, chamomile, caraway and a bittering touch of gentian, finishing long and warm. Pour over plenty of ice with tonic and a wheel of blood orange.
