Description

Nikka Date is a no age statement blend from Nikka, produced at the Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi Prefecture near Sendai and bottled at 43% for event use. Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, it takes its name from the historic Date clan associated with the Sendai region.

Miyagikyo is known for its elegant, orchard-fruit-driven malt, shaped by tall stills and indirect steam heating. As a blend, the Date expression builds on that soft, fruity foundation with the vanilla and cereal notes characteristic of Ex-Bourbon maturation. The profile is in the house's typically gentle, rounded style, offering an accessible and regionally rooted whisky tied to the history and landscape of the Miyagi Prefecture area.
