Description

Miyagikyo Single Malt is a no age statement release from Nikka's Miyagi Prefecture distillery, first opened in 1969 alongside the Nikkawa and Hirose rivers near Sendai. The site's taller stills and indirect steam heating produce a softer, more delicate spirit than Yoichi, and this expression, released in 2015, showcases that house character in an accessible, everyday format.

Ex-Bourbon maturation delivers the familiar vanilla and honey foundation, and the flavour profile extends to fresh and dried fruit, gentle citric brightness and a faint touch of new wood. At 45%, it presents Miyagikyo's fruity, malt-forward style in a rounded and inviting package.
