Hanyu Sanmi-Ittai Trinitas Cask #Batch 9585

The Sanmi-Ittai Trinitas series draws on malt whisky stock associated with the closed Hanyu distillery in Saitama Prefecture and is released without an age statement at cask strength. Batch 9585, bottled in 2019 at 57.6% for global distribution, was produced alongside the similarly numbered Batch 9586 from the same year, with both drawing on Ex-Bourbon maturation.

The bourbon wood base gives Batch 9585 its characteristic vanilla, toasted grain and light dried apple note, without the sherry, wine or mizunara overlay of other expressions in the Trinitas series. The cask details beyond the bourbon maturation are unrecorded, and the blended malt designation is honest about the multi-cask nature of the vatting. At cask strength the expression has the weight to carry the Ex-Bourbon character at full intensity, and the global market release makes this one of the more broadly distributed Trinitas bottlings.
