Togouchi 9 Years Old is a blended whisky produced by Chugoku Jozo in Kure, Hiroshima, and one of the most distinctively stored whiskies in Japan. The company matures its stock in a former railway tunnel, a long, temperature-stable space that allows the liquid to develop slowly and evenly over nine years in Ex-Bourbon casks.

The tasting profile shows that unhurried development clearly: smoke mingles with dried fruit, toasted cereal and old wood, with a nutty, husky quality that is characteristic of longer-rested bourbon-casked blends. The spirit draws on both domestic and sourced stock; the combination produces a quietly textured and food-friendly whisky, bottled at 40%.
