A cask strength single cask Long Pond, distilled in 2009 on the pot still and bottled at 13 years old and 53% by Maison Ferrand under the Plantation label for the Danish market, an ex-bourbon-aged, unsweetened Wedderburn-style Jamaican.
Description
Long Pond Plantation VRW 2009 is a single cask Jamaican pot still rum distilled at Long Pond in Trelawny in 2009 and bottled at 13 years old by Maison Ferrand under its Plantation line for Denmark. Long Pond is a historic Wedderburn house, so expect funky, fruit-forward character, overripe banana and pineapple, with the rubbery, briny hogo the estate is known for.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at cask strength, 53%, this is an unsweetened single cask that sits apart from the lightly dosed mainstream Plantation blends. The full proof keeps the esters loud and the texture oily, with bourbon-barrel vanilla and dried fruit underneath the estate's tropical funk.
