Plantation Extreme No. 4 2007 is a single-cask St. Lucia from Maison Ferrand's collector-focused Extreme line, distilled on a Coffey column still, aged thirteen years and bottled at cask strength, 58.9%. The Extreme series sits apart from the brand's softer mainstream bottlings, presenting full-proof, single-cask rum for experienced drinkers.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, the nose offers vanilla, caramel, wood and orange, while the palate turns woody and spiced, with caramel, clove and a caramelised edge. The finish brings dark chocolate, vanilla and fruit over firm wood. There is real depth here, with dark fruit, burnt caramel, coffee and a menthol lift emerging as the rum opens. At nearly 59% it benefits from time and a little air, and it suits drinkers who like rich, wood-forward rum but want more power and intensity, happy to let a pour breathe before settling in.
