Panamá Province SéRum Gorgas Gran Reserva

Panáma Province SeRum Gorgas Gran Reserva is a Panamanian ron drawing on the soft, mellow molasses rum the country is known for. Distilled on a column still and bottled at a gentle 40%, it leans toward a fruitier, rounded expression of the easygoing Panamanian style.

The character is smooth and fruit driven. The nose offers dried fruit, ripe fruit and cherry, the palate is silky and fruity with more dried fruit and a citrus lift, and the finish stays mild with a lingering cherry note. There is a marzipan and oak edge in the background that adds a little interest, but the overall impression is soft, round and easy rather than deep or powerful. Sugar status is not declared and it reads gently sweet. A pleasant, fruit accented Panamanian for relaxed sipping, comfortable neat and undemanding by design.
