A Guatemalan Zacapa built from cane honey rather than molasses, this Centenario Black Label is column-distilled, blended in a highland solera and openly sweetened, a dark, rounded, dessert-style ron at 40%.
Description
Ron Zacapa Centenario Black Label is made by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala from miel de cana, the cane-honey base that sets Zacapa apart from molasses rums, then column-distilled and blended in the brand's high-altitude solera system. It is recorded as sweetened and bottled at 40%. Zacapa is openly built around richness and smoothness, so this is honestly a sweet, dessert-leaning ron rather than a dry sipper. Expect the butterscotch, raisin and baking-spice profile typical of the house, with the Black Label aiming for a darker, slightly more robust take. It reads as a soft after-dinner pour, with its sweetness front and centre.
