Maltbarn, a German independent known for its understated labels, bottles this 16 Year Old as No. 253, a 2008 vintage matured in Oloroso, an outturn of 177 bottles.

Sixteen years in Oloroso lent dried fruit through the cask's melanoidins over the rich spirit.

At 53.4% it shows a cooked-mash depth over sherried dried fruit and Longmorn's body, undiluted. A Maltbarn No. 253.
