Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, held some of the deepest Longmorn stocks of any bottler. This Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask 27 Year Old is a 1994 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask 50085, an outturn of 168 bottles at a robust cask strength.

Twenty-seven years in ex-Bourbon shaped the weighty make, the American oak giving vanilla and a soft creamy sweetness and a nutty depth, full strength keeping it vivid.

At 57.9% it shows chocolate, honey, new wood, a nutty note and vanilla over Longmorn's body, undiluted. A 1994 Connoisseurs Choice.
