Description

Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, held some of the deepest Longmorn stocks of any bottler. This Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength 30 Year Old is a 1990 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask 30006, a tiny outturn of 96 bottles.

Thirty years in ex-Bourbon matured the rich spirit, the oak's caramelised hemicellulose giving a soft toffee alongside vanilla while the angel's share concentrated it.

At 47% it shows mature orchard fruit, honey and vanilla over Longmorn's richness, undiluted. A 1990 Connoisseurs Choice.
