This Glen Keith was bottled by the Glasgow bottler Douglas Laing, a 30 year old, distilled in 1991, from cask DL 15290, bottled at 50.8%, one of 427 bottles. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt known for a light, sweet, fruity character. Its make went largely into the Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers blends.

Worked through the tall stills for a light, sweet make, building a light, fruity character of green apple and pear. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the light spirit. Ethereal and fragile, decades draw the light malt to a honeyed, waxy delicacy of sotolon, tropical fruit and old oak. Balloch Hill water and the tall stills give the light Glen Keith make. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Keith character lead the way. Single malt Glen Keith is rare, most of it coming from independent bottlers. Its water is drawn from the Balloch Hill spring above Keith.

At its natural 50.8% it is concentrated. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The texture is light and clean, the fruit lifted by vanilla. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is the light, fresh malt of Keith.
