An official release of Singleton of Dufftown, a 12 year old, at 40%. Dufftown is a smooth, approachable Speyside malt from the town with the most distilleries in Scotland. The Singleton of Dufftown is matured in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak.

Run through the stills on water from Jock's Well in the Conval Hills, for a soft, nutty, fruit driven make. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. Integration folds eugenol (clove) and vanillin (vanilla) into the malt, the body softer and nuttier. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the smooth Speyside spirit. In recent years the ferment was lengthened and the wort run clear for a grassier make. Refill oak lets the nutty, malty Dufftown character lead the way. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Dufftown warehouses. Maturation in the eight Dufftown warehouses is slow and steady.

At 40% it is smooth and nutty. A smooth, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a nutty malt sit behind the cask. A long, malty finish carries an orchard fruit and a soft nut. This is the workhorse malt of Dufftown.
