This official 1770 Glasgow single malt, a 5 year old Glasgow malt from 2019, drawn from cask 19/1500 and bottled at 58.7%. The outturn was 303 bottles. The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2012 and revived single malt distilling in Glasgow after more than a century. Water comes from Loch Katrine, and the whisky is bottled without chill filtration and at natural colour.

The spirit was worked through copper pot stills for a clean, fruity spirit, for the fresh, fruity make at the heart of the 1770 style. It was matured in ex-Bourbon oak, lending vanilla and honey. Bottled without chill filtration, the texture stays full and the cask speaks clearly. Water is drawn from Loch Katrine, and the whisky is bottled at natural colour without chill filtration. It sits in Hillington Business Park in the southwest of Glasgow, just off the M8. Founders Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward set out to bring single malt back to the city.

At a hearty 58.7% it carries real punch. Green apple and a creamy malt lead, and the ex-Bourbon lends vanilla, honey and a soft apple. A green apple and a warm spice lift it. A long, fruity finish carries a vanilla lift. This is Glasgow's revived single malt, the 1770.
