Mortlach 14 Years Old 2000 Cask #6819 + 6820 (Signatory Vintage)

Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, released this 14 Year Old, a small parcel of casks, a 2000 vintage. Founded in Dufftown in 1823, Mortlach owes its rich, meaty weight to worm-tub condensers and the unusual 2.81 distillation devised by Alexander Cowie.

Fourteen years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the heavy, sulphury make.

At 43% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth over the meaty Mortlach body. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
