Whisky-Doris, a German independent, bottles this young 8 Year Old, a 1999 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask 810, an outturn of 180. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside malt distilled near Pluscarden Abbey and long destined for Ballantine's.

Early in its life, eight years in American oak drew quick wood sugars and first vanilla into the sweet, floral distillate, the cask barely tannic.

At 55.7% it shows fresh apple, pear and vanilla, undiluted. A Whisky-Doris 8.
