Description

Samaroli, the storied Italian bottler founded by Silvano Samaroli in 1968. This Coilltean 9 Year Old draws on a 2009 vintage in ex-Bourbon, cask 900061, an outturn of 506. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside distilled where Pluscarden Abbey's old meal mill once stood, long a heart of Ballantine's.

Nine years in a bourbon cask gave the light, floral spirit its first oak, vanillin and a touch of coconut from the lactones, oxidation barely begun.

At 43% it shows fresh apple, pear and vanilla. A Coilltean 9.
