Description

Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations. This Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength 13 Year Old is a 2007 vintage from Oloroso cask 18603501, an outturn of 329. Miltonduff, the sweet, grassy Speyside raised on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey and known as a Ballantine's workhorse.

Thirteen years in a sherry butt drew quick colour and dried-fruit sweetness into the fresh, floral character, melanoidins giving raisin as oxidation began.

At 59.7% it shows chocolate, dried fruit, leather, nuts, a sherried character and tobacco, undiluted. A 2007 Connoisseurs Choice 13.
